The following written questions have been received from members of the public:

(1) Carers Strategy, "Think Carer - building a Carer Friendly City – Catherine Lane

I am a part-time carer for my father. For many carers a car is not just a mode of transport — it is a place of safety: somewhere to deal with a difficult moment privately, away from a crowded pavement. It gives freedom to visit shops and cafés that would otherwise be impossible to access with a wheelchair. My father holds a Blue Badge. Drop-off and pick-up is not enough. A carer cannot leave a vulnerable person whilst they are inside a hairdresser — they must park outside and stay with them. Western Road's Red Route makes that impossible. Disabled bays 50 or 200 metres away, if occupied, are no use. The strategy commits to being a 'carer aware' city. Will Cabinet review implementing the Western Road Red Route in light of the Carer Friendly City strategy — a strategy it has committed to, but which this Red Route undermines?

(2) Consultation on the Renewal, Extension and Introduction of New Public Space Protection Orders- Pamela Stiles

Myself and my neighbours welcome the proposal to prohibit unauthorised overnight parking of lived-in vehicles on council owned land. This has been an issue in Roedean Car Park for far too long and is something I have raised with you time and again over years - not weeks! We cannot wait further years for the Roedean Car Park ongoing encampment to be addressed, and residents here are concerned that the PSPO process will take a long time. We have repeatedly asked for the height barrier to be Re-installed at the entrance to the Car Park and we have even offered to ask local Residents who contribute to a Residents Association Fund, to help with funds to do this. I put in an application to the recent CIL available money project for our area and the proposal made the Short List. Please can you agree to take this forward as soon as possible.
